The Wait

“May the love hidden deep inside your heart find the love waiting in your dreams. May the laughter that you find in your tomorrow wipe away the pain you find in your yesterdays.”

Going in the my last weekend in my single life. The wait is almost done with. So much happening all around. A lot of frustrations as well. Shaking of heads, nodding, and what not. Most things are going well, but some things that are most important to me aren't really so.

Weddings here involve so much waste, plastics, showbiz, social satisfactions and what not. I feel terrible that these are exactly the things that I have tried to avoid living in a differnet country leading a different life, but here faced with the most important day in my life I find it hard to be silent as I watch these. I know for a fact that I could have had exactly (or close to it) the wedding I wanted for half the price. To add to it the work culture in India is such (that I had completely forgotten or neglected), that most of my friends are unable to make it for the wedding cos it's on a week day. It makes me question the notion whether weddings are meant to happen only on week days. Moreover, I have about 20 friends coming from abroad while only 5-6 friends from India itself.

What then would would have been my ideal wedding? I'll think over it and write about it tomorrow.

Very good framing, wall, mood, and very interesting text.
