Sweet Life

"Without deep reflection one knows from daily life that one exists for other people."

Albert Einstein

An art work who's creator I don't remember, yet it was interesting for it showed that each individual is worthy, valuable - to one or another. Some times it requires deep reflection, some times it's just something you know by observing others, looking around you and looking within your own home. Here a young couple busy getting an idea of their worth - to each other may be.

Life is funny. I feel funny about myself, and sometimes stupid. Never felt more this way for a long time than a few days ago.

I realized that I still thought of myself and my friends as those buddies that grew up together in a school and an environment with very little disturbance or externalities to worry about. Sleeping in a general compartment in an overnight train in winter, sleeping on the floor like refugees in a room (fit for three but in reality being used by 6 close friends) for the fun of being together, no formalities in grabbing stuff from friends. And what not.

And although I still feel like that young boy back in those days, I have disappointingly realized that the world around me has grown. And so naive I was that I booked my tickets for a city just to meet friends, stay with them, spend time with them, only to realize that the very friends, living in one of the most expensive cities in the world had little room for us in a one bedroom apartment. Where earlier a room was comfortably shared by 3, here those same friends find it difficult to share a house with two others for a few days.

It's definitely not them, it's me, for living in my boarding school and hostel life imaginations. Cities are disappointing places. Sometimes people don't have time and often they don't have space - to relive those old times where the only thing that was obvious was simplicity, innocence and laughter.
