“God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.”

Vance Havner

After some turbulent times in our relationship recently post- some beautiful times in Europe with friends and strangers I am glad to be back to blogging and aminus - something that I haven't been able to do for a long time. And this image seems a very warm yet strong evidence of our love, bonding and desire for each other, despite the last few weeks of uncertainty.

So we are the birthday couple. And I hope, wish and pray that this birthday, like many others for me, marks a new beginning in our relationship - of hope, compromise, renewed understanding and reinvigorated love. For they say that a successful and happy relationship is about falling in love many times, always with the same person. A marriage succeeds through several things working together as one, and always simple and truthful, for novelty dies down after some time.

This picture was taken on our first day in Paris, by The Louvre, where a beautiful fountain sprayed its chilled water all over us on a warm day, and where many other love stories begin and settle.

Through the next few months I shall try to be more regular at aminus and take you through my 25 day journey beginning in London and ending (temporarily) in Sicily, where we ate some incredibly delicious food, met some lovely people and experienced some very warm hospitality from friends and strangers alike.

“And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer.”
