An Abundance of Loss

"Whatsoever you do, if you do it joyfully, if you do it lovingly, if your act of doing it is not purely economical, then it is creative. If you have something growing out of it within you, if it gives you growth, it is spiritual, it is creative, it is divine.

You become more divine as you become more creative. All the religions in the world have said that God is the creator. I don't know whether he is the creator or not, but one thing I know: the more creative you become, the more Godly you become. When your creativity comes to a climax, when your whole life becomes creative, you live in God."

And in God she may live in a few moments.. in the absence of real miracles.

A dear friend, a close friend.. a playful, creative person.. believer of Ganesha.. of sharing.. of giving.. who I have the good fortune of knowing in Shanghai over the last 3 years, so full of life until only a month ago.. who seemed so larger than life.. whose voice rings in my soul.. whose smile and smiling face still fills my heart.. who was a real giver.. she gave.. and gave.. and gave.. she just gave love and hope and courage to all around her.. shared all the time.. never once expecting.. and now this wonderful woman from this picture in November 2015.. is fighting for every breath in Canada.. with her family and close friends around her.

This cannot be true.. this cannot be fair.. And only less than a month ago she was full of life.. although a bit ill.. unaware of how ill she was inside in her body.. And the news has devastated many of her close friends.. and me.. I've not seen someone so dear and near.. who I've connected with so deeply.. suddenly, without a warning.. prepare to journey to a higher land...

I know this is not true Sabina.. it cannot be so.. first we waited 4 years to meet each other.. and when we do.. you decide to stay around only for a few years.. cannot be.. seems like we have known each other forever.. and we haven't even had a proper chat for many months when there was a time we had them all the time.. just one more day was what I needed..

“Have you ever lost someone you love and wanted one more conversation, one more chance to make up for the time when you thought they would be here forever? If so, then you know you can go your whole life collecting days, and none will outweigh the one you wish you had back.”

So good to stop here Nitin and get to see these special portraits of special people; also of your grandmother. The pics are fabulous and also the stories "oh so special" !~ apart from the pics the stories are far too special to be seen let alone be heard just once. You have a special gift dear Nitin, and you look so handsome with your special friend, reminding me here of the last time I met Joni Mitchell and her resemblance to her in this photo !~
